From hospitality workers to retail employees, the exaggerated “customer service voice”, often mocked in internet memes as wildly different from someone’s real voice, has long been a cultural trope. The single biggest advantage of push-based reactivity is that it is fine-grained. Each time an input changes, we only notify those dependencies that will actually need to be updated. Every other node in the system can remain in a state of blissful ignorance. This is great if we’ve got a lot of inputs that update independently from each other — our spreadsheet is a good example here, as are most GUIs.
